About Ellen Kalik
When Ellen first saw the movie, Annie, she became inspired to become an actress. Always a shy child, Ellen thought that by acting, she could become someone different and outgoing. Though she took some acting classes, she didn’t officially perform until being in the ensemble of her high school senior production of Oklahoma. She had desperately wanted the role of Gertie but enjoyed the production anyway. She then took an Acting class during her sophomore year at college and met a close friend. It wasn’t until after college that Ellen decided to start auditioning for local theater productions. Once she started, she kept honing her skills. And she actually did finally get cast as Gertie in a production of Oklahoma. Ellen also got the chance to appear in a stage production of Annie, playing Lily St. Regis, which was very nostaglic, as it was the movie that inspired her to pursue acting. She has since gone from that very shy child to someone who lives life and enjoys new experiences, especially in theater and film.
